Christmas and New Year is celebrated more amongst the Christian communities in Nepal. However, other communities also participate in parties and non religious celebrations during holiday with Christians and New Year. In other words, people of Nepal celebrate Christmas and New year as a national festival as they celebrate other festivals?People start shopping from the beginning of December. Christmas trees are erected at homes with lots of decorations on it. Trees are decorated with bells, starts, reindeers, gift boxes, and many other decorations. The Christmas trees are lit up with twinkling lights. People attend services in the church during the mid night. In the morning people visit the houses of friends and convey their best wishes. Gifts are being exchanged. In the evenings the Christian homes host special Christmas feasts. The feast comprises roasted chicken, vegetable salad and other Nepali foods along with turkey, pumpkin pies and Christmas puddings. The foods and celebration depends upon the status of people, however, all celebrates the birth of Lord Jesus with zeal and enthusiasm.

DAY 01: 23rd December 2015: ARRIVAL KATHMANDU-(Altitude: 1,350 m) Dinner only
Meet and greet upon arrival at the International airport and transfer to hotel. Traditional tika ceremony upon arrival, check into the hotel, tour briefing followed by welcome drink. Late evening enjoy dinner in Nepalese restaurant with local dance, overnight stay at Hotel in Kathmamndu.
DAY 02: 24th December 2015: KATHMANDU SIGHTSEEING B/L/D
After breakfast leave for full-day sightseeing tour of Kathmandu valley covering Kathmandu Durbar square which is also known as Hanuman Dhoka or Kumari temple (temple of living goddess). In this area you will visit Kumari temple- temple of living goddess, Kasthmandap-the wooden temple built by a single tree, palaces, forts, temples & many more historical sites; Swayambhunath Stupa-almost 2000 years old Stupa situated on a hillock offer breathtaking view of whole Kathmandu valley with eastern Himalayan ranges. Lunch will be served at any specialty restaurant as per the choice of the clients near Patan city area. After lunch, proceed for Patan Durbar Square- the city of art and architecture where you can see Durbar square, stone temple, Buddhist monasteries etc. Return to hotel , get refreshed and proceed for to enjoy Chrismas Eve party. Overnight stay at hotel in Kathmandu.
DAY 03: 25th December 2015: PANAUTI/ NAMOBUDHA HIKING B/L/D
After breakfast drive to Panauti ( 30 Kms, 1 hours drive) an ancient Newari village town, Visit around the village and hike to Namobudda. ( 3/ 4 hours hike) . Visit famous Namobudda stupa and enjoy the view of Himalayas and valley. After lunch drive to Dhulikhel. Rest of the day free to explore ancient Newari town Dhulikhel. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
DAY 04: 26th December 2015: UNESCO HERITAGE TOUR & DRIVE TO NAGARKOT B/L/D
Wake up early morning to enjoy the view of Himalaya at sun rise. After breakfast leave for UNESCO World Heritage sightseeing tour covering the ancient Hindu temple of Changu Narayan which is located on a high hilltop that is also known as Changu or Dolagiri. The temple is surrounded by forest with champak tree and a small village, known as Changu Village & Bhaktapur Durbar Square which was founded in 889 AD. is 13 km east from Kathmandu. The old palace square of Bhaktapur contains famous "Fifty-five windows palace". It was the royal palace of Malla kings then. The golden gate in this square is the unique master piece of the Nawari art work in the whole of NEPAL. This old square is like an open museum of Hindu temples. The other famous sites are the ancient royal bath, the courtyard of Taleju shrine; the museum of art and history, the pottery square, the majestic Nyatapola temple, the famous Peacock window and the Dattatraya temple .You can feel the mythical air of timelessness in Bhaktapur. Lunch will be served at Bhaktapur. After lunch, start drive to Nagarkot and enjoy the scenic view of valley, sunset and golden Himalayas. Dinner and overnight at Hotel.
DAY 05: 27th December 2015: DRIVE TO CHITWAN NATIONAL PARK
Wake up early in the morning to see the sunrise on the Himalayan ranges including Mount Everest on a clear day After breakfast, drive towards Chitwan National Park (195 Kms, 6 hrs drive) enjoying the view of the mountains, rivers, passing through the valleys on the way, finally arrive Chitwan National Park and check into Jungle camp or Resort followed by lunch. Evening local villages tours & enjoy the sunset over the jungle as its background. Late evening Tharu cultural dance program followed by Dinner & overnight
DAY 06: 28th December 2015: FULL DAY AT CHITWAN NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, enjoy the Elephant back safari inside the jungle to see the famous one-horned rhinos of Asia, wild boars different kinds of deer’s, If you are lucky, you might have an opportunity to see tiger and many more animals. Return back to hotel, lunch is served. After lunch, canoe ride on Buri Ravti River to see the crocodiles, afterward visit Elephant breeding center. Evening visit around local village/ spend time on your own. Late evening, dinner will be served, overnight at hotel.
DAY 07: 29th December 2015: DRIVE TO KARE( HIKING STARTING POINT) B/L/D
After breakfast leave for Kare via Pokhara (175Kms, 6 hours drive) passing through the valleys, rivers, terraces fields and sometimes viewing different Himalayan ranges. On the way you will absorb local villagers working on their paddy fields etc. Lunch will be served at Pokhara . Finally arrive Kare and hike to Australian Camp( maximum one and half hour hike) - One of the best view points to see western Himalayn ranges and valley. Arrive Australian camp and check into camp/ lodge. Rest of the time enjoy the view of Himalayas and sunset. Dinner and overnight at camp.
DAY 08: 30th December 2015: HIKE TO DHAMPUS & DRIVE TO POKHARA B/L/D
Wake up early in the morning and enjoy the golden panoramic view of Himalayan ranges at sunrise points. After breakfast hike down to Dhampus village. Enjoy the Himalayan ranges and beautiful Dhampus village. Lunch will be served at Dhampus village. After lunch drive to Pokhara. Arrive Pokhara and check into hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.
DAY 09: 31st December 2015: POKHARA SIGHTSEEING B/L/D
After breakfast proceed to city sightseeing covering Seti gorge, International Mountain Museum, Devi’s fall also known as Patale Chhango, Tibetan refugee camp and Fewa lake. At the end of the tour proceed for 1 hour boat ride on famous Fewa lake. Lunch will be served at the specialty restaurant or at your hotel. Rest of the day enjoy the different activities as Zip flying, Paragliding, Ultralight flight etc. Evening participate on the Grand New Year Eve Party. Return to hotel, dinner and overnight .
DAY 10: DRIVE TO KATHMANDU B/L/D
After breakfast drive to Kathmandu. Arrive Kathmandu and check into hotel. Evening visit to Thamel tourist center will be organized. Overnight stay at hotel.
DAY11: DEPARTURE B
After breakfast drive to Tribhuban International Airport for flight to onward journey with beautiful memories of Nepal.
