Hindus in Nepal celebrate the Diwali festival with bright lights, gift exchanges, fireworks, and elaborate feasts to welcome Lakshmi, the goddess of light and wealth. Various houses and shop front in Kathmandu, Nepal, displays the bright lights typical of Hindu communities during Diwali. Diwali is celebrated here with the usual Hindu festivities and rituals. Diwali in Nepal is known as Tihar. Just like most places in India Diwali is celebrated here to honor the goddess of wealth and god of prosperity-Lakshmi and Ganesh respectively. The festival here continues for five days. Every day has its special significance. Day 01: 08th November 2015: Arrival in Kathmandu, Nepal Breakfast only
Arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu, meet welcome and transfer to hotel. Briefing program will be carried out along with welcome drink. Rest of the day is free for personal activities. Overnight stay at hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 02: 09th November 2015: Drive to Pokhara/ Witness Festival of Crow( Kag Tihar) B/ L/D
Breakfast , and drive to Pokhara( 220 Km, 7 hours drive). En route witness the festival of Crow. On the way you can witness many beautiful sceneries – villages, rivers , mountains etc. Finally arrive Pokhara and Check into hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 03: 10th November 2015: Pokhara Sightseeing/ Witness Dog Festival B/ L/D
Wake up early morning and drive to Sarangkot view tower to enjoy the view of Sunrise and Himalayas. Return to hotel, breakfast and proceed for local sightseeing tour to Bindabashini temple, Seti George, International Mountain Museum, Devi’s fall and 1hr boating in Fewa Lake. En-route visit local house and witness the Dog festival. Rest of the day is free for personal activities as Ultra light flight, Paragliding, Jeep flyer etc. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 04: 11th November 2015: Visit Gorkha & Bandipur / Witness Deepawali Festival B/ L/D
Breakfast and drive to Gorkha- the Historical city. En-route visit local villages and witness the cow being worshipped as a God of wealth. Visit Gorkha historical sites and return to Bandipur – one of the most popular village , situated on the hill overlooking valleys , mountains ranges and Himalayas. Evening enjoy the Deepawali festival with different group of male and female dancing and celebrating as part of festival. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 05: 12th November 2015: Drive to Kathmandu/ Witness Gobardhan Puja Festival B/ L/D
Wake up early in the morning and witness the view of sunrise and Himalayan view . Breakfast and drive to Kathmandu. En-route visit local village to witness the Gobardhan puja festival. Finally arrive Kathmandu and check into hotel. Evening visit Thamel market and city area to witness Deepawali festival. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 06: 13th November 2015: Bhai Tika Celebration / UNESCO world heritage site Tour B/ L/D
Morning hour enjoy Bhai tika celebration as brother / sister in local Nepali house. Late afternoon proceed for local sightseeing tour to Kathmandu Durbar Square(Kumari House) and Soyambhunath stupa. Early evening enjoy the festival of light in and around city. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 07: 14th November 2015: UNESCO Heritage site Tour/ Drive to Nagarkot B/ L/D
Breakfast and proceed for Local sightseeing tour to Pashupatinath temple and Boudhanth stupa.
Lunch and proceed to visit Patan Durbar Square and Bhaktapur Durbar Square . After visiting Bhaktapur Durbar proceed to Nagarkot. Arrive Nagarkot and enjoy the view of Himalayas with sunset view. Overnight at hotel.
Day 08: 15th November 2015: Final Departure Transfer Breakfast only
Wake up early in the morning to witness the view of eastern Himalayan ranges including Mt Everest ( 8,848 m) at sunrise. Return to hotel , breakfast and proceed to International airport for onward flight.
